NatPaCT will be reviewing, revising and refining these competencies over the coming months in the light of emerging PCT practice and more detailed policy guidance. "Commissioning" is used as an overarching term, embracing the strategic planning of services, the procurement and contracting of providers, and the monitoring of delivery, including patient outcomes.
